Playgroup (0-3yrs)

 Capital Montessori Playgroup is a starter group for families interested in joining the Capital Montessori School community. The playgroup was set up by a group of parents at Capital Montessori School as an opportunity for younger children (aged up to 3 years) to play and learn within the school environment.

We provide a range of educational resources/activities and equipment for the children (including books, puzzles, blocks, play dough, matching and sorting activities, and pouring and spooning exercises). When weather permits we have outdoor time, but also enjoy climbing and explorative equipment indoors. Musical instruments and music also play a role in our sessions. Some of the equipment we use introduces children to the Montessori materials they will experience when they progress into the pre-school classrooms.

Playgroup is an excellent way for your children to meet other children who will be starting at Capital Montessori School in the future. It is also a great opportunity for parents to meet other parents and to learn more about Montessori education.

Where: Rata Classroom (adjoining the office block), Capital Montessori School, 14 Camrose Grove, Kingston

When: Monday mornings during term time, from 9 to 11.30am

What to bring: A piece of fruit towards a shared fruit platter for the children. A shared morning tea for adults and children is provided each week by a participating parent. The group is run co-operatively and we all pitch in getting set up, getting paints out, making and bringing the playdough, tidying and cleaning etc.
