Will is usually defined as an act that is committed intentionally, with power over oneself. Are we born with will or does it develop over time and we have to learn how to use it to make choices?
A continuation from our Passion for Montessori workshop, we'll look at how obedience forms and what makes a child happily follow guidance from others. In our society, the ‘will’ in a child is surrounded by all kinds of myths. A ‘strong-willed' child is often regarded negatively as one who is independent and obstinate in wanting to do things by him or herself. In Montessori we value those children as independent choice makers with clear ideas. However, parenting them is another thing altogether!
All welcome. Come and join us.
