Enrolling your child

We currently have places available in our preschool programme for children from 2.5 years.

We also have spaces for new families with children under 3 in our infant and toddler playgroup sessions.

Preschool

1. Visit our school. Make a time to meet our Principal and observe a classroom in action.

2. Register. Complete a registration form.

Once registered, we will get in touch with you to offer your child a place, or place them on our waiting list until they are ready to start. Children usually start preschool around their 3rd birthday, or the term before they turn 3, if they are ready and there is a place for them in the classroom.

Infant & Toddler Playgroup

Families interested in joining our under-3 infant and toddler community are welcome to email us to arrange to visit a session.

Preschool

Capital Montessori School is a not-for-profit, parent co-operative run by a Principal and an elected Board of parents. We try to keep fees as low as possible to enable more children and families to be part of our community and access quality early childhood education.

The School offers 20 Hours ECE. A flat fee is charged each term for hours over and above the 20 free hours.

Our preschool fees are $700 per term (generally around 10 weeks) when the full 20 free hours are attested to the school.

We offer a discount to families who pay their fees for the full calendar year (6%) or two terms (3%) in advance.

There is a registration fee of $100 (per family) to cover administration and membership of the Capital Montessori School Inc. Society. When a place for your child is confirmed, a fee of $350 is payable (credited to your child's first term's fees).  A bond of $350 (payable one week before the child starts) is held and refunded when your child leaves Capital.

Assistance with paying fees for 3 and 4 year olds may be available through the Childcare Subsidy offered by Work & Income New Zealand (WINZ).

Infant & Toddler Playgroup

Fees for Rata Infant & Toddler sessions are $80 per family, per term. Families can attend one or more sessions each week.
